This week for my challenge i have decided to make a poll using PollDaddy. The question is what is your favourite chip flavour.

This the 3rd challenge of the september challenge. This is where i live. I live In Port Stephans, NSW, Australia. This is a place on the eastern coast of Australia. It is made up by suburbs such as Anna Bay, Soldiers Point, Nelson Bay, Raymond Terrace, Salamander Bayand more. Anna Bay is Home to Stockton Beach, this beach stretches all the way to Newcastle. Along stockton is the Anna Bay Sand dunes, these are gigantic. Soldiers point ramp and drive it arond the beautiful islands and oyster farms. This is an excellent fishing spot tooRaymond Terrace is in the middle of port stephens it has a shopping centre with a big W, Eb games and Bi Lo. Nelson Bay is one of my favourite places. It is home to the D’albora Marina. This marina holds many festivals and carnivals. It is where most people store there boats while they are on shopping in the marinas shops or eating in one of the many nice restaurants. Here you can see many expensive and nice boats. Salamander Bay is the place to go if you want rugby fields, AFL fields, soccer fields and shopping centres. Salamander Bay has a rather large shopping centre that caters for all shoppers wether it be gaming or clothing its there. Port Stephens has more suburbs such as Lemon Tree Passage, Bobs Farm and shoal Bay, but i have listed the main ones. That is were i live Students or classes should visit my blog because it gives you an insight into activities that my class does. To other countries my blog can help you understand how a foreign school works. My blog has some interesting posts about school. And you can even say hello to my pet monkey! I think that students can use photos of themselves if they dont have any other information about themselves on their blog. If you were to put a photo of yourself where you live and your name then you would be taking a risk because people would then know your name, where you live and what you look like which is dangerous because on the internet you dont know who some people are. A Common Sense Media survey shows that 92% of parents think their children share too much information on the internet. On Saturday the eleventh of September Soldiers Point School held a school fete. It was a huge success with many rides and stalls. Many people came to buy goods donated by the parents. There were rides for kids and stalls for adults. Stalls included a cake stall, a barbeque, the canteen, a raffle and a nursery. Some of the rides/games were pony rides, gladiator, rock climbing, jumping castle, bungie trampoline, bowling, a slide, dart throwing, swinging chairs and a teacher knock em down. It is estimated at over 35 thousand dollars. Thank you to the parents and p&c for their hard work. My father is the best dad in the world. He cares for his family and friends. Every week on Mondays, he travels to Sydney to work. He does this to pay the bills and feed the family. This shows he cares for us. Dads humour while embarrassing can be very rarely funny. He finds it very entertaining to tease me and my older brother. He never gets angry. Well, very rarely. The last time I saw him go off was a good couple of years ago. He always manages to look on the bright side, something I wish I could do. My dad is the best. I believe he should take father of the year. As you realise by now he cares about his family, looks on the bright side and while embarrassing can be funny. My class has used glogster before. It is basicly an online poster. You can put videos, music and text on one. This is very useful for homework tasks which is what we used it for. It can look good and be entertaining with videos while still being educational. My rating is 4.5 of 5. This is the link http://edu.glogster.com/ It is also safe as everyone’s blog is supervised for cyber bullying or inappropiate content. At the beginning of the year a few of my friends and I took a test for entry into a totally selective school, Merewether High School. Me and one of my friends, along with 4 others got in and 2 made the reserve list. My friend is definitely going. I have not yet made a decision. As it is a very long bus trip into Newcastle and a different bunch of kids in Merewether, so I am a little hesitant. My friends have already been taken up the waiting list and I’m pretty sure that at least one of them will get in. If he does I might go because that is two friends at the school and another one catching the same bus. I have recently tried out for the Gifted & Talented class at the local high school too. I think I will get in but if I don’t then I will definitely be going to Merewether. Which school to go to? I don’t know yet. We will find out in a few weeks anyway. On the 21st of July our school left on a bus headed to Morisset. When we arrived we were greeted by a number of instructors. We were split into 4 groups and we started our first activity. My group went to low ropes first.this was extremely boring compared to other activities. Afterwards we did fencing. I won out of my group. Then we had afternoon tea. We then set off down to the river to play some games in canoes many of which were like tips. We got splashed by passing canoes, and the water was freezeing cold. We were then allowed 1 hour of shower time before dinner. Dinner was made up of meat and potatoes. We then went across into the meeting hall for games night. After games night we headed back into our cabins to go to bed which was almost impossible as other people around the dorm got up and ran around. we mostly talked all night. The next morning we had a breakfast of egg then went to our first activity. My group was on rock climbing first. I really hate rock climbing most of all I am really bad at it. After wards we had morning tea and a snow cone. Then our instructor took us up the hill to the dual flying fox. I went 4th. The only scary bit was jumping off the 2 story platform. We then had lunch in the hall. Next up was the giant swing. Now the giant swing is basically a swing except…… your in a harness and its 14.5 metres tall. At the beginning the rest of your team had to haul you up using a rope and pulley, then you pulled a cord that disconnected the rope and then you dropped and went up and dropped then up again and again until you stop. It is freaky at first but on your second go it’s really fun. After that we headed up for morning tea and went to archery. This was very funny and entertaining as almost everyone missed and sent the arrow flying up the range. I scored the highest in my group getting a yellow a red and a blue. Once again we we given 1 hour for showers then dinner. After dinner we were informed that we would be running a small county fair on the veranda of the dining hall. We split into groups of 10 and got a stall to run. There was a milk bar, massage parlour, hairspray and tattoo, face painting, a bungee cord race, a mechanical surfboard, a bakery and juggle and darts. My group got the bakery. In the bakery we sold doughnuts and fairy bread. I also got free reign over the snow cone machine. When I was away from our stall I had a go on the bungee cord and surf mania. We made the most money. The next morning we had high ropes which was scary but easy, then we had orienteering. In this we had to find 16 gnomes around the camp and record their colour, unfortunately 3 had gone on holidays. I was dissapointed that we had to get on the bus to home but also sort of excited to see my family. This year our Socceroos made it to the World Cup. Our first game was a disappointing 4-0 loss to Germany, in which Tim Cahill was red carded and Harry Kewell didn’t play because of an injury. Our next game was better. A 1 all draw with Ghana. How ever Harry Kewell was red carded for a handball! That’s ridiculous. Brett Holman scored in the eleventh minute. Luckily, Cahill appealed his red card and will play in our must win game against Serbia. Currently in our group Ghana are in the lead, second is Germany, third is Serbia and although I hate the fact, we are fourth in our group. In the lead overall Argentina are winning with 9 points, Uraguay is second on 7 points and tying for third are Netherlands, Chile, and Brazil all on 6 points.Good Luck Socceroos!© |
